Tiles should be 'invertible', i.e. it should be able to use the exit point as an entry point and vice versa.
This has already been documented and should be implemented in TilesetRepository.getAvailableTiles().

Has been decided that this probably won't be implemented. The user will have to define two separate tiles for the two directions manually in the tiles definition file.

Not really necessary. Creating two separate tiles will do as well and often even be necessary because some detail is different.

The trails need to be switched as well! (Particularly relevant because of the trail part lengths.)
